You have noticed a sudden shift in the person you love lately. You notice that they come home from work and suddenly the energy in the room shifts. They’re distant, detached, and quiet. You love this person and want to hear about their day, support them through whatever is on their mind, save them from whatever is causing them pain. You want to share with them, tell them something exciting or important to you. Whatever you do, they seem to withdraw further. You’re at a loss and you don’t know what to do.
It’s really hard to know how to support your partner, your parents, or loved one when their career is exposing them to repeated traumas. They feel they are protecting you from their pain, but you yearn for connection. You’re not alone.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
This is a time for you to tell me briefly what brings you to therapy and to ask any questions that you may have. We will also use this time for you to learn how I can help and make sure that we are a good fit. If we decide to proceed we will set up a session date and time that works best with your schedule. There is no obligation at all to book a session with me during our initial consultation.
-
I will send you an email with my calendar and you can schedule your appointment. I will also send you intake and consent forms to be filled out prior to the session. Take time to reflect on what your goals are.
-
Once you have booked your appointment you will have been sent a link to our secured video platform. A few minutes before we meet, just make sure that link works and that your technology is working well. If it is not, reach out to me and we’ll try to figure it out.
At the first session we will begin by getting to know each other. I will ask questions to gather information and to collaboratively come up with a treatment plan. Our first couple of sessions will be question-heavy but after that, it will be more of a conversation.

We do not take insurance - but here’s why.
- You’re in control of your care, including your right to choose a therapist, length of treatment etc.
- There is increased privacy and confidentiality (except for limits of confidentiality)
- You don't have to worry about having a mental health disorder diagnosis on your medical record.
- Consulting with me on non-psychiatric issues that are important to you like coping with life changes, communication techniques for your relationship or personal insight should not determine whether or not your insurance provides coverage for therapy.
We do offer limited slots for those experiencing financial hardship. Discounted fees will be re-discussed on a monthly basis with the understanding that when your financial situation improves, the fees will be increased to the standard rate.
We also partner with Mentaya. Mentaya is a group that helps you use your “out of network” insurance benefits to get a percentage of your money paid in therapy back. https://www.mentaya.com/patients
